Catching up... vol 1- 1st day of school

These two photos are from Munchkin's 1st day of school. He was excited but sooo nervous. He seems to like school overall, though he is getting sick of doing the same worksheets every day.

Remember kindergarten? It was mostly fun, right? Not so much now. The kids have to be reading and writing (as in keeping a journal) by the end of the year. They rarely have recess. Why? State testing.

I looked into homeschooling before he started school. I strongly considered it. But I realized that I probably lack the patience to teach someone how to read. But, the idea is still in the back of my mind. Maybe once he gets the basics we'll make the change. Anything is possible right?
